Worship Life
Countryside is people who live life together in Worship.
We live life together following Jesus as Worshipers.
Worship Life — Loving God
There is a sacramental nature to our life. We were created for worship of the living God. In fact, Jesus said, “a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24) As we give this love and allegiance to God we are formed by God, becoming more like Jesus His Son. Worship is keeping our eyes on Jesus. Worship is loving God.
As a group of believers we live our lives together faithful to God the Father, by the power and direction of the Spirit, in Jesus, and seek to create expressions of worship that become tangible encounters with God. Through gathering together to worship in sacrament and service, with creed and calendar, through the reading and study of the Scriptures, breaking bread, fellowship with one another, prayer — all in reverence to God as the church has always done — we seek to create holy space where people can encounter the living Christ. As we center in on following and imitating Jesus by living out the greatest commandment — love God and love others — the sacrament of our lives is demonstrated. This is a lifelong transformation of the whole person to worship, conforming to the image and likeness of Christ. In doing so we accomplish our reason for being here, worshiping and loving the Lord, and loving our neighbors as ourselves.
Worship is both public and personal. Worship is more than our Sunday morning gathering, but it is not less than that. We gather for public worship on Sundays at 10 a.m., Wednesday mornings at 6:30, and Thursdays at 7 p.m.
