Gift Receipt Not Required

We live in a world obsessed with explanations. When something good happens, our first instinct is to trace it, label it, explain it—even spiritualize it. But what if some gifts aren’t meant to be analyzed, only received? In this study from James 1:17, Pastor Terry invites us into a different posture—one of humble, joyful gratitude. Rather than shouting “God did it!” over every good thing or trying to map the mind of God, we’re called to trust the Giver, even when the delivery route is unclear. Because grace doesn’t come with a receipt. No fine print. No return policy. Just goodness from a generous God. Gift receipt not required.

Series Information

Sometimes God feels close. Clear. Obvious. But much of life—if we’re honest—is lived in the fog. This series is for those who have questions without answers, faith without formulas, and gratitude without explanations. It’s for the ones who’ve been told that certainty is the goal of faith, but have found that certainty often leads to pride, while mystery leads us back to Christ. In this series, Terry explores what it means to walk with God when we can't see the road ahead. We’ll wrestle with silence, confront the idol of spiritual overconfidence, and learn how doubt—far from being a weakness—may be the very place faith is born again. Because maybe the goal isn’t to see clearly.
Maybe it’s to trust God fully—even in the fog.
