Jesus Did It, at Simon’s House, with Love
In our current world, it is very easy to feel unwelcome. When we take a look around various forms of media, the divide across society seems very deep. It seems that the only time someone is welcoming to others is when they want something from them. However we are all welcome at Jesus' table, regardless of our faults and biases, regardless of what we have to offer in return. Therefore, as Christians we are also called to be welcoming to all people. Terry takes us through a look at Jesus' dinner with Simon the Pharisee from a different angle. When we welcome others we are worshiping Jesus and also ministering to others. When we welcome others we are fulfilling our calling from the Lord.
Series Information
Terry proclaims the one Gospel through the history, research, rememberings and faith expressed in the text of the Gospel According to Luke. Jesus himself is the good news expressed by Luke. Beginning with the birth narratives unique to Luke's presentation, the good news of the Kingdom explodes into faithful view as each account, teaching, parable and event lived out and offered by Jesus, the Messiah-King, is examined the way Luke seemingly examined Jesus in his own work. Here we find a Jesus to love, a Jesus to follow, and ultimately a Jesus to worship.
