Love from Revenge 6: Perfection
When Jesus interprets the Scriptures rightly, he identifies it as fulfilling the Scriptures. Jesus didn't come to abolish the Scriptures but to fulfill them, and this changes everything, including how we read and interpret Scripture ourselves, including interesting places where Jesus tells us to be perfect. Have you ever been troubled by an expectation of being perfect? Take heart! Christ is perfect. Your trying to be perfect isn't what he's talking about anyway! Terry shares a message from Luke 16:16-17 and Matthew 5:43-48 entitled Love from Revenge 6: Perfection
Series Information
Terry proclaims the one Gospel through the history, research, rememberings and faith expressed in the text of the Gospel According to Luke. Jesus himself is the good news expressed by Luke. Beginning with the birth narratives unique to Luke's presentation, the good news of the Kingdom explodes into faithful view as each account, teaching, parable and event lived out and offered by Jesus, the Messiah-King, is examined the way Luke seemingly examined Jesus in his own work. Here we find a Jesus to love, a Jesus to follow, and ultimately a Jesus to worship.
