You Actually Have To Follow Jesus
With summer upon us, the sounds of lawnmowers fill the air from morning 'til night. Like most chores, after you've done them for a long time, you find little shortcuts or ideas that help the process become easier. With mowing, it's a good idea to mow the opposite way you would normally mow, to be able to catch parts of the lawn that maybe wouldn't be cut as well having been cut in the usual pattern. Today Terry brings us that same idea from Luke 2:8-20, looking at the story of the shepherds being told the birth announcement of Jesus from the angels, and by doing so we may find parts of the story that might be missed, had we read it in the usual way. Listen as we find the shepherds transform from filthy nobodies to faithful followers of the Savior.
Series Information
Terry proclaims the one Gospel through the history, research, rememberings and faith expressed in the text of the Gospel According to Luke. Jesus himself is the good news expressed by Luke. Beginning with the birth narratives unique to Luke's presentation, the good news of the Kingdom explodes into faithful view as each account, teaching, parable and event lived out and offered by Jesus, the Messiah-King, is examined the way Luke seemingly examined Jesus in his own work. Here we find a Jesus to love, a Jesus to follow, and ultimately a Jesus to worship.
