All about the people and place we call Countryside

Countryside is people who live life together following Jesus.

Countryside Christian Fellowship is a congregation of Jesus followers, a group of broken and imperfect people desiring to know, worship and serve Father, Son and Spirit, the God who has given us life. Jesus invites, “Come, follow me.” At Countryside we are following Jesus. This is who we are: Jesus followers. This is what we do: Follow Jesus. Life as a follower of Jesus has shaped us as worshipers, as a community of people, and as citizens of the Kingdom of God in this world. We live life together following Jesus.

Worship Life — Loving God

As a group of believers we live our lives together faithful to God the Father, by the power and direction of the Spirit, in Jesus, and seek to create expressions of worship that become tangible encounters with God.

Worship is both public and personal. Worship is more than our Sunday morning gathering, but it is not less than that. We gather for public worship on Sundays at 10 a.m., Wednesday mornings at 6:30, and Thursdays at 7 p.m.

Community Life — Loving Others

We create a new community in the Gospel. It is important to us that we recognize that this new community is family. Families are not formal, rigid or ritualistic. Families are genuine, loving, forgiving and generous... Our gatherings reflect this. As people of God we live out our faith in community.

Community at Countryside is about making family. The life of the church is not a solo-life. When Jesus said, “Come follow me,” he wasn’t talking to one person. He called many people from different walks of life. Community may start with a friendship, but it goes beyond our inner circle of friends to embrace others as family, as brothers and sisters.

Kingdom Life — On Earth as it is in Heaven

In the kingdom of God greatness is not found in elevating yourself, but in doing for someone else. Jesus came to make all things new; we respond to the good news as we pray and live the Gospel on earth, in the same way it is real in heaven, and join God in making all things new.

As Jesus' followers we're not about “attending church”, but about being the church. At the heart of the kingdom of God is a radical work of justice and reconciliation bringing people together in forgiveness and love under the name of Jesus Christ. We do help our neighbors, we serve our community, even as we engage in the mission of the Christian church displaying Jesus’ love.

Countryside is also a place

We meet in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Western Oregon. The Fellowship gathers in north Eugene, in the midst of charming, historic Coburg — out in the country. Described by many as a community church, we are really more of a church community. Our missional community is large with people traveling from all over the southern Valley to be involved in the body.

The people and the place, Countryside is all about Jesus

This is not just the bottom line for us, this is the only line. Everything begins and ends at the feet of Jesus. Everything moves forward from loving God and loving others. Colossians 3:2 admonishes us to "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." So, we "fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith" Join us. Taste and see that the LORD is good...
