Just Deliver Us

Deliverance is an interesting concept. Far too often it is viewed as a Get-out-of-jail-free card. It is viewed as a last minute thing, reserved for only the moment we realize we are in over our heads. Like a movie hero showing up to save the day when all seems lost. However this deliverance can take other, less obvious and comfortable, forms. This morning Terry takes us through a different look at what deliverance means. Christ is our deliverance, however not always in the way we hope. This does not mean we blindly run head first into every battle. As Christians, our trials and our growth from said trials can be our deliverance. Our discipline and willingness to undergo the calling of Christ for our lives can be our deliverance.

Series Information

Terry proclaims the one Gospel through the history, research, rememberings and faith expressed in the text of the Gospel According to Luke. Jesus himself is the good news expressed by Luke. Beginning with the birth narratives unique to Luke's presentation, the good news of the Kingdom explodes into faithful view as each account, teaching, parable and event lived out and offered by Jesus, the Messiah-King, is examined the way Luke seemingly examined Jesus in his own work. Here we find a Jesus to love, a Jesus to follow, and ultimately a Jesus to worship.
