From the earliest history of God's people, holidays have never been simply celebrations. Instead, holidays (holy-days) are moments for collective memory, for remembering past events of a people, for memorializing and celebrating our heroes, for remembering what makes us the people we are, and for honoring our faithful God. Do we continue to use our collective memory to praise God this way? The church does. Terry offers a bit of both personal and collective-congregational testimony reflective of the seasons and times.
